It was hot blistery day in August  1899, the mercury on the thermometer was rising, reaching towards triple digits it was just a half past ten in the morning. There was the hustle and the bustle of early morning chores just finishing up around the stables. Breakfast being served, showman beginning to set up, listen there's the sound of the marching band. People are arriving from everywhere, from all around the state. Children laughing, the chatter of adults seeing each other for there once a year meeting. Then a hush comes over the entire area.
